Wild storm lashes Cloncurry, more rain at Lake Julius

WIND gusts of 85km/hr lashed Cloncurry on Sunday night with the town’s dam resembling a windswept coastal beach.

There was also a quickfire shower of rain, with 11.8mm recorded in Cloncurry.About 10mm was recorded in only 10 minutes just before 6pm.

Lake Julius scored much of the downpour with 38mm recorded, mostly between 7.15pm and 9.30pm.

There was also windgusts of 82 km/hr at Lake Julius and Lake Moondarra also felt some of the wild storm with trees uprooted and blocking roads.

Richmond had an early Australia Day treat with 25.6mm recorded, much of the rain hitting between 2am and 3am this morning.
